The system you have installed into your property will vary depending on how you will use it. Below are some recommendations on sizes of boilers and cylinders that we recommend for certain property types.

Flats - In flats it is advised to go with a combination boiler around 24kw in power. Should you demand a higher hot water flow rate or have a larger than average flat we would recommend a 30kw combination boiler.

2 bedrooms terraced - Again due to smaller size of the property we would recommend a 24-30kw combination boiler, the more people in the property would equate to a larger boiler for hot water usage.

3 bedrooms detached - A couple of systems are available here. A large combination boiler of around 30-40kw will be sufficient for heat and hot water demands, giving a good flow of hot water. Ideally if the property is inhabited by 5+ people we would recommend a system boiler around 18Kw and an unvented/vented 200litre hot water cylinder. This will enable more than one hot tap to be used at the same time, which is likely to happen in a house of this size.

4+ bedroom property - Due to the large size and high number of people living in the property we would strongly recommend a system boiler of around 24-30kw and an unvented/vented cylinder of around 250-300litres. An unvented hot water system would be the ideal in this situation as it has unaltered performance in high usage scenarios. It could also be advised that to save money on hot water bills a solar thermal system is installed.
